Relationship Reflection
The most important relationships I have are the ones with my family. I am close to not only my immediate family (my mom, dad, sister and brother), but also to my extended family. We do many things together, whether it's going on a family vacation or getting together for no particular reason. My family has supported me in everything I do and I can't imagine what my life would be without them.
My family isn't the only positive relationship I have in my life. I, also, have great relationships with many of my coworkers. Several of them I can talk to, not only about situations happening at work but also about personal things. We always have a fun time when we're together.
Lastly, I have two friend who mean a lot to me. Between us, there's over 30 years of friendship. Even though our friendship may not always be the best it could be, I know they will always be there for me.
My relationships with all these people are not always perfect. We definitely have our disagreements, however we still can find a way to put our differences behind us. We also have an understanding about topics that are "off limits" because we will never be able to see eye to eye on them. We agree to disagree. For this reason, it helps me be an effective early childhood professional. I have learned how to compromise, put my biases aside, and have an open mind about other's beliefs and ideals.
